  • Do I need ducting for my island hood?
    Teka island hoods work in two modes: Ducted (vented) or Recirculating (charcoal filters). In HDB flats and most condos, recirculating mode is the easiest choice because building regulations and space limits often block external duct runs.
  • How often should I clean or replace Teka hood filters?
    Metal (mesh) filters: Remove and wash once a month in the dishwasher or soak in warm, soapy water. Charcoal filters: Swap out every 6 to 12 months, depending on how often you cook, to keep grease and odours at bay.
  • What is the noise level (dB) of Teka hoods?
    Teka hoods run between 52 dB (low speed) and 68 dB (high speed). That’s roughly the sound of a normal conversation at low speed, and background office noise at high speed.
  • Can I install a Teka island hood myself, or should I hire a professional?
    While Teka hoods are bolt-on ready, ducted installations require precise cutting and sealing of external vents. We recommend a licensed installer for ducted mode. For recirculating mode, many homeowners handle the filter setup themselves using our step-by-step guide.
